Getting my wisdom teeth removed

I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow and have no idea what to expect. Is it painful? I have the next 4 days off work and I hope that's enough time to recover, but I'm worried it won't be. Also what are some good, soft foods to eat for the next few days? I hate jello so don't suggest that please.

    Yeah the swelling for me was pretty bad for the first 3 days, but after that the pain and swelling had gone down to a bearable level so you should be fine. It's not that painful, you'll be sedated, and they usually give you pain killers for the aches after the procedure. I personally had lots of mashed potatoes. Don't eat or drink for the first 4 or so hours, and stay away from liquids at first so as not to dislodge anything. And I can not emphasize enough that you SHOULD NOT drink from a straw for the first two weeks after surgery.
