How long am I contagious with the flu?

I have had a bad case of the flu for the past two days and was invited to see my 1 year-old nephew tomorrow. My wife says I should stay home as I risk getting him sick but I really want to see him and don't think I am any longer contagious. How long am I able to infect others with the flu after I get it?

    Lawrence Andrew you should absolutely not go see your nephew if you have the flu! Children have very sensitive immune systems and he could easily catch the flu from you. Also this has been a terrible year for the flu and childresn have been catching pneumonia and other severe complications. You do not want to be responsible for your nephew being admitted to hospital so while I know you want to see him I think you should wait until you are feeling 100% and then spend time with the little guy.
