My back always hurts after sitting for a long time, what can I do to ease the pain?
I am a retired construction worker who worked 20+ years and spent most of my days hunched over digging and drilling, My back has always been slightly sore but lately it has started to hurt a lot when I sit for longer periods of time. Is there a way to get rid of the pain without having to rely on pain medications?

Hi Petr, I myself worked in landscaping and construction for a long time before retiring. I now use a combination of daily stretching, orthotic shoe insoles, and topical gels like A535 and Voltaren. Every morning when I wake up I do 10 sun salutations, which is almost a yoga pose, but it stretches out your spine and back and helps take pressure off the lower back. I also find that insoles help lift your feet and change the angle of your back, which seems to help me. If it is ever very painful try using a gel to help with the topical pain.
