What's a home remedy for treating an ear infection?

Hi, so I've had a horrible infection in my right ear for the past two days. The side of my face hurts so much that I can hardly eat or swallow anything. Is there a home remedy that can help speed up recovery in addition to the medication my doctor has provided me with?

    Parker that does not sound good. When I had ear infections as a child my mother would give me turmeric pills to take, as well as lemon and ginger tea that was supposed to help swelling. Maybe you can try that
