Foot Pain Wearing Boots

Rick O'Leary

I do a lot of outdoor work in the garden and have noticed my feet and lower back start to ache. I am usually planting and transplanting my peonies, as well as raking and shoveling to maintain the garden beds. Are there any specific types of insoles or shoes that are made for this sort of thing?

I think the pain is associated with the quality of the footbed in the boots and maybe even the size. You should look to buy new boots that fit. If that isn't an option maybe pay for some orthotics if you want to make sure your feet stay planted in the boots. Dr. Scholl's has great insoles.
